Social distancing while attending festival season
Covid-19 is a virus causing a global health concern and has impacted every day life. It’s as though it's the plot of a summer blockbuster hitting theaters Memorial Day weekend. This is something that should be taken serious for your well being and the well being of others. With the fate of the largest electronic dance music festival in North America up in the air, not including the rest of festival season, here is how you can alleviate some of your festival blues and hang out with your crew (while still complying with the stay at home order public health officials have set forth.)
Watch live streams of your favorite artists.
It was a slow start, but artists started live streaming from home, a studio or unknown location on social media platforms such as their own Instagram, Facebook, Twitch or Youtube. To follow, Insomniac Events hosted it’s very own “Virtual Rave-a-thon” where they had artists who were supposed to perform at IRL Beyond Wonderland, at the Insomniac Events Headquarters. This has continued with Countdown NYE and will continue to entertain us moving forward.

With the Insomniac Passport Community, we found a way to still party together—from home. We jumped on Zoom which is an audio and video conferencing platform to make it easy for people to chat online in real time. We got dressed in our best rave fashion ( I wore the latest from Rolita Couture, Psychedelic Dreams Collection), those of us who are over 21 years of age got our drinks, and we partied together on zoom. It was great! Just what we needed in a time of distress and uncertainty, at least we could have some sort of normalcy.

Along with artists doing their own live streams, many other festival organizers are jumping on the bandwagon now that more postponements are imminent, and are broadcasting live stream festivals. Brownies and Lemonade is hosting “Digital Mirage—Online Music Festival”  with headliners such as 4B, A-Trak, Kill the Noise, Party Favor, Valentino Khan, Yehme2 and many more. April 3rd - 5th 2020. Anjunabeats will be streaming this week on Twitch with sets from Cri, Dylhen, and a replay of ABGT100 recorded at Madison Square Garden, NYC. (Link
Awakenings Festival will be replaying sets from 2019 so check that out Saturday April 4th and Sunday April 5th.

Desert Hearts will be doing live DJ Sets on Tuesday, Thursday Friday, and Saturday. March 31, April 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
Golden Voice will be streaming a Youtube Original documentary feature “Coachella: 20 years in the Desert,” premiering April 10, 2020. Not necessarily a live stream, but this will make an interesting watch party.
Didn’t see anyone listed that you are interested in? Lucky for you, Amanda Cosenza, Owner and Founder of Festivate, created a spreadsheet to better organize the live streams and then Matthew Fong Made it into a website. Check it out below to find a live stream that fits your style, then get your friends together to host your own zoom virtual party! (Rave attire highly encouraged
Which virtual festival are you gonna watch?
